Donyi Polo Vidya Bhawan
Under the noble guidance of the Donyi Polo Mission, Donyi Polo Vidya Bhawan was founded on 14th November 1981, fulfilling the visionary dream of Shri Gegong Apang (born 10 January 1947), the 3rd Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. Inspired by his own schooling experiences, Shri Apang firmly believed that every child of Arunachal must have access to quality education within the state. With just three students and one teacher, the journey began in a serene corner of Itanagar, rooted in his philosophy that “an educational institute must be far from noise pollution, close to nature, and secular in character.”
From these humble beginnings, Donyi Polo Vidya Bhawan has flourished into a premier institution of excellence, shaping disciplined, value-driven, and knowledgeable citizens for over four decades. In 2025, the institution entered a new era of progress with the dynamic leadership of Mrs. Alison Welly, an accomplished educationist and entrepreneur. Bringing modern vision, advanced learning tools, and a global outlook, she is steering the school towards international recognition, while staying true to its founding mission of nurturing minds, character, and values.
